Next Step

Next Steps Logo - Final - SquareNext Step: A Life Recovery & Outreach Program

I may not be there yet, but I’m closer than I was yesterday.

Self Defeating: Affliction is not concerned with race, age, gender, or wealth. There are many forms of afflictions that are self created. This can destroy families and separate us from God. Non-substance or behavioral addictions are thoughts you engage in that meet many of the same criteria as substance addictions. They are behaviors and thoughts that dominate your life. Behavioral addictions can be as destructive as substance addictions. We will examine and expose all addictive and habitual behaviors.

Next Step is not just for addictions, afflictions, dysfunctions, and self-defeating behaviors. It’s for helping others deal with life when life is overwhelming and unrelenting. Moving upward and forward – our goal is to overcome.

Dead end, broken, lost, alone, feeling hopeless? We can help!

Since we live by the Spirit let us keep in step with the Spirit. (Galatians 5:25)

Our Next Step is to Grow and Mature in our walk with Christ as we Learn to tear down the barriers that restrain or obstruct our progress.

By helping one another we will find a peace and serenity that we have never known.

One step at a time…
Step 1
– Honesty, Open Mind, and Willing (H.O.W.)

Step 2 – End Self, It’s time to clean house. (Examine. Admit. Confess.)

Changing-for-goodStep 3 – Know Christ (John 8:32)

Step 4 – Education. If we don’t know, then we don’t know any better.

Step 5 – Evaluate. To find the value, worth, and quality of every member.

Step 6 – Staying Power.

“I was a chronic alcoholic for 20 years. From the age of 16 to 36 my life was wrapped around the chaos that comes with an addiction. Many jails, violence, depression, guilt, shame and that lifestyle had me looking at a 3 year prison sentence, I got 1 year in county jail instead. Before I turned myself in the miracle happened. 2 months before my fourth rehab and my year in jail, I was asking God to end my life or change me. I thank Him every day that He chose the later. I went to rehab and jail but this time a different person. I had a lot of time to read and study scripture and theological books that my brother sent me. When I was released from jail I went straight to college and I also became the director of a Celebrate Recovery program in downtown Fresno. Two years later I finished my courses for addiction education and counseling while also finishing a life-coaching course, I guess that makes me an addictions coach. Soon after the Lord put it on my heart to create the Next Step life recovery and outreach program, which is built on Biblical principles. Our program is not just for addictions but for anyone dealing with life when life is overwhelming and unrelenting. I believe true fellowship is helping, supporting, and encouraging one another in this fallen world. With many years clean and sober only by the grace of Jesus, there are two things I know; addiction and recovery.”
